About the OneTouch Ultra Blood Glucose Test Strips
OneTouch Ultra diabetic blood glucose test strips are test strips used to deliver your blood samples to your OneTouch Ultra 2 Blood Glucose Monitoring System so you can keep track of your blood glucose levels. They have two ends, one with three contact bars which is inserted into the test port and the other side with an edge to apply your sample and a confirmation window. There is a code on your vial of test strips which you need to calibrate your test meter with by imputing the code manually.
These diabetic strips come in a vial of 50 or 100 units.
How to use
To prepare to test yourself using a fingertip sample you will need, a OneTouch Ultra 2 meter, a lancing device, s sterile lancet and OneTouch Ultra Blood Glucose Test Strips. Insert a new test strip into the test port with the three contact bars facing you. When the APPLY BLOOD message appears on the screen you can apply your blood sample. Once you have successfully obtained a round drop of blood move the meter with the test strip toward the blood drop on your fingertip and apply it to the narrow channel on the edge of the test strip. Then wait for the confirmation window and the blood drop will be drawn into the narrow channel. Your blood glucose level will then appear on the display along with the unit of measure and the time and date of the test.
Do Not:
- Use your diabetic strips if your vial is damaged or left open to air
- Return the used blood strip back into the vial after doing a test
- Re-use a strip that had blood or control solution applied to it
- Smear or scrape the drop of blood with the diabetic strip
- Move the diabetic test strip in the meter while doing a test
